You don’t have to brush your teeth, just the ones you want to keep!
Teeth. We all grew up being told to brush. Most of us fought our parents and many adults still see it as a hassle. Maybe it’s because we can’t see the results of our efforts immediately. Maybe we just don’t like the feel of toothpaste in our mouths. Whether we like it or not, we must take care of our gnashers. We only get two sets of teeth in our lifetime and the first set usually falls out by the time we become teenagers. That means we have one set that needs to last 60-70 years.
STRAIGHT TEETH AND ORAL HEALTH
If you have an aversion to brushing and flossing it might be because of your tooth alignment. It might sound strange, but if your teeth aren’t lined up properly, food gets stuck easier and flossing can be difficult due to overly cramped areas in your mouth.
Consider visiting an orthodontist, who can give you a quick evaluation and see if your smile might benefit from something like braces or Invisalign. The easier it is to take care of your teeth, the more likely you are to do it. Misaligned teeth can lead to premature wear and tear because they scrape against each other throughout the day in a way they aren’t designed to.
MINIMAL OFFICE VISITS
Don’t be deterred from visiting an orthodontist by saying you are too busy for braces. Invisalign is a series of removable, transparent trays that shift your teeth slowly. You take them out when you eat, so they never get in the way and they don’t require the same day to day maintenance as traditional braces.
