Your smile shows people that you are happy, and happy people make better impressions on others. People with crooked teeth don’t always smile even when they’re feeling happy. If you have crooked teeth, you may avoid smiling because you are embarrassed by your teeth, but you may be building a reputation for yourself as a gloomy person at the same time. An orthodontist can help you to have straight teeth, a beautiful smile and a better outlook on life.
Why Choose Orthodontics?
An orthodontist is a specialist in the straightening of crooked and misaligned teeth. Orthodontics like braces or Invisalign can bring teeth into proper alignment not only for better looking smiles, but for proper function and better oral health. There are many choices in orthodontics today, including:
• Traditional metal braces
• Invisalign clear aligners
• Clear braces
• Lingual (back) braces
• Colored braces or braces with colored elastics
Straight Teeth are Healthy Teeth
Having straight teeth makes your teeth and gums healthier as well as making you look better. Crooked teeth can cause difficulty in keeping your teeth clean, which can lead to plaque buildup and gum disease. If you have a bad bite, you may have difficulty speaking and chewing, and you may create stress on your jaws that can lead to painful symptoms of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder. Straight and properly aligned teeth function the way nature designed our teeth to function. This leads to better oral hygiene, better chewing and digestion, and better oral health.
