Improving your teeth and gums has never been easier. For example, making some minor adjustments to your daily diet can yield big results. Consuming pineapples, cucumbers, bananas and other “super foods” can help improve the health of your gums and protect you from developing gum disease. When you consume these types of foods, in addition to visiting the orthodontist on a regular basis, you can protect your oral health for years to come.
Keeping Your Teeth Healthy
Pineapples have the ability to actually whiten your teeth and strengthen your gums. When you consume a slice of pineapple, it actually serves as a cleaner for your mouth as well. Pineapple contains Xylitol, which helps to rid the mouth of any bacteria. You can make sure that you keep fresh breath by consuming pineapple, because this fruit will kill any bacteria that results in bad breath.
Avoid Gum Disease
Pineapples also help you avoid gum disease. This disease can severely injure your gums and can cause irreversible damage. Consuming healthier foods as a part of your daily diet is one way to prevent gum disease or to treat it if you currently have it. Pineapple can actually help your gums to heal, as it contains healing properties. If you have recently started a process like invisalign, pineapple can also reduce swelling and bleeding in your gums.
Other Health Benefits of Pineapple
This super food can help you avoid cancer and other serious illnesses like macular degeneration. In addition, it can improve your cosmetic appearance. It will aid in moisturizing your skin and hair. Pineapple also contains a significant amount of Vitamin C that can help you avoid illness.
