As you may know, there are a lot of adults who may not have seen an orthodontist in Brentwood. Because of this, they may not know what to expect during their first appointment. The first appointment is generally pretty easy and there are a few things that you can expect such as:
- Your orthodontist getting to know you
- Having your first full mouth exam
- Providing your orthodontist with previous dental records
- Deciding whether or not you need treatment
A Welcoming Smile
As Max Eastman once said, “A smile is what the world considers a worldwide welcome”. Your smile is one of your most valuable assets, and it is one of the first things that people see. A good orthodontist knows this, which is why their main focus is on the health and appearance of your teeth. Their goal is to help you achieve that inviting smile just as the dental quotes say.
Whether you need braces or other types of treatments for your mouth, your orthodontist will go over all of your options with you and help you make a decision that you can be comfortable with. Once the decision is made, your orthodontist is more than likely going to set up an appointment for active treatment.
It is always best to discuss any concerns or ask any questions that you may have before a treatment is decided upon. This way all of your concerns can be cleared up before any procedures are started. As Walter Scott is quoted as saying “you want to be able to look back and smile at the perils of your past”.
